A 9-year-old Hinesville child was injured Sunday while driving a motorcycle designed for youths on Grandview Drive shortly before 4 p.m.

According to Lt. Scott Hensler of the Hinesville Police Department’s traffic accident section, the youngster stuck a vehicle, causing him to fall and sustain injuries.

The child was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah by medical helicopter where he was treated for a wrist injury and released.

The investigation is ongoing.
