Liberty County School System employees will return to work Wednesday and students will resume classes Thursday, school system officials announced.

The Liberty County Health Department and HIV CARE center will resume normal operations Wednesday but the Long County Health Department will remain closed.

The Long County Fire Department says a shipment of meal kits and water is available and there is a limited supply of ice. A cooling station is now open at Long County Middle School and cold water is available for anyone in need. 

Georgia Power reports 310 of its customers in Liberty County are without power. There are nearly 17,900 Georgia Power customers in Liberty.

Coastal EMC reports 31 of its 6,975 customers in Liberty County remain without power, and one of its 604 Long County customers is without power. Nearly 925 of Georgia Power’s almost 2,570 Long County customers are without power.
