“Salute to Summer is a way to thank our service members and families for their steadfast commitment and readiness to serve our nation. The interconnectedness of our military installations and surrounding communities is an invaluable asset that ensures our force is resilient and focused on our core mission. This is an opportunity for us to recharge and forge bonds with our Coastal Georgia community,” said Col. Marc Austin, Fort Stewart- Hunter Army Airfield garrison commander. “We are blessed with strong relationships, and we are grateful for your continued support of the 3rd Infantry Division, our Special Operations, Coast Guard and supporting units stationed here. Come celebrate with us as we observe the Army’s 250th birthday, America’s first national institution.”
