Opening arguments are expected to start Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. in the trial of a man accused of killing and dismembering his wife.
Jury selection was completed Monday for the trial of Nicholas Kassotis, who is charged in the 2022 killing of his wife, Mindi Mebane Kassotis.
Hunters found body parts in early December 2022, and those parts later were identified as those of Mindi Kassotis.
Nicholas Kassotis was arrested in Pennsylvania in 2023. The couple, married in 2016, was living in Savannah. He was indicted in February 2024 on 12 counts, including one count of malice murder, one count of felony murder, one count of aggravated assault and one count of removal of body parts from the scene of a death/dismemberment.
The trial, with Superior Court Judge Paul Rose presiding, may take up to three weeks, according to the court calendar.
