The Long County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early Friday morning in Ludowici.
According to Long County Sheriff Craig Nobles, deputies from the Long County Sheriff’s Office and the Ludowici Police Department responded to a man lying on the roadway on Highway 84 near the 100 block of Cypress Street around 1:40 a.m.
Nobles said officers discovered the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and immediately began to perform lifesaving measures on him until emergency medical personnel arrived.
The unidentified victim was transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville and later transferred to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah for treatment. Nobles said he is currently listed in critical condition.
Nobles said detectives sought an arrest warrant for the apprehension of Tshombe Leon Williams, 38, who was arrested at a residence on the 200 block of Anthony Drive NE without incident by the Special Response Team. He is being charged with aggravated assault.
Nobles said the investigation is ongoing and is not a random act. He is asking for anyone with information on the case to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at (912) 545-2118.
