The Development Authority of Long County has been active this month in both regional and local initiatives designed to advance the county’s long-term economic development goals.
On October 21, members of the Tri-95 Georgia board, project engineers, key consultants, and advisors met at the Georgia Ports Authority headquarters in Savannah for a strategic meeting and tour of port operations. The session began at 9 a.m. in the GPA conference room and included a detailed overview of port logistics, intermodal capacity, and ongoing infrastructure improvements that continue to strengthen southeast Georgia’s competitive position.
Following the tour, participants held discussions on regional real estate and development strategies.
One week later, on October 28, the Development Authority held its regular monthly meeting at the Old Mantex Building in downtown Ludowici.
The Board approved the minutes of the September 9 meeting, which included the formation of the Railroad Depot Committee and discussions on the Tri-95 Georgia Joint Development Authority marketing event and the new community magazine project. The minutes also recorded a decision to explore local partnerships to assist in the magazine’s production and distribution, ensuring that the publication highlights Long County’s businesses, community life, and economic opportunities in a professional and accessible format.
The authority accepted the August and September financial statements and heard a director’s report from Executive Director Brad Day, who provided updates on a range of ongoing projects.
