Mahan Scholarships awarded to local students

The Liberty County Chamber Foundation recently awarded three Liberty County graduates its annual Toby Mahan Scholarship. Each graduate received $500 for continuing education.

The recipients are: · Bianca Duncan, First Preparatory Christian Academy · Chloe Makinwa, Bradwell Institute · Geovanii Pacheco, Liberty County High School This scholarship honors Toby Mahan, who was a pillar in the local business community. Jimmy Shanken, Chairman of the Chamber Foundation, said “Toby was a big supporter of education, so we know he’d be proud to help the next generation pursue their passions.”

“I’m extremely grateful and humbled to win,” said Pacheco.

“This is a great honor, and I’m so excited to be selected,” said Makinwa.
