No children hurt in accident involving school bus
talmadge road bus accident
An accident involving a school bus shut down Talmadge Road.

A four-vehicle accident involving a school bus has sent the drivers to the hospital. No injuries among the children on the bus have been reported.

The Wednesday morning accident involved a school bus, two pickups and a Chevrolet Impala. Georgia State Patrol Trooper Christopher Cronsell said the school bus was stopped and just picked up two children. Two vehicles behind the school bus were stopped and another vehicle struck those vehicles and essentially caused a chain reaction.

Cronsell said why the vehicle that apparently caused the accident did so is under investigation.

There were 13 children and two adults on the school bus and there were no reports of injuries. According to the Liberty County School System, all students were safely transported to school or picked up by their parents.

The driver of the Impala, which struck the two pickups behind the school bus, was taken to a hospital with injuries. The driver of the first pickup struck was flown to a Savannah hospital with serious injuries and the driver of the second pickup was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.

Talmadge Road was closed for several hours.
