Two soldiers assigned to the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division died in a vehicle accident during a field training exercise Thursday night on Fort Stewart. No additional soldiers were injured in the accident. 

“We are heartbroken about this tragic accident and will do everything we can to support the Soldiers’ Families and friends during this incredibly difficult time,” said Maj. Gen. Christopher Norrie, 3rd Inf. Div. commanding general. “The entire division extends our deepest condolences to the Families of the Soldiers who died in this accident.” 

The names of the deceased will not be released until their next of kin have been notified. The accident is under investigation and additional information will be released when it becomes available.
