Walthourville City Council member Patrick Underwood has been chosen to the Georgia Municipal Association’s Children and Youth Advisory Council for the 2025-26 year. 

The role of the council is to recommend programs, training, research and other initiatives that should be undertaken by GMA or GMA’s non-profit, GeorgiaForward, to address the needs of children and youth in Georgia cities. 

It also provides a forum for city officials to explore opportunities for collaboration with GMA and GeorgiaForward with agencies and organizations whose mission focuses on assisting children and youth, to foster the exchange of ideas and information on programs that have proven to have had a positive impact on children and youth and propose legislative policies, as necessary, to the appropriate GMA policy committees that would help address children and youth issues.
