BI’s Pasley wins three events at region track meet

Bradwell Institute sophomore Jacoby Pasley captured three first-place finishes at the Region 1-AAAAA track meet at Statesboro High.

Pasley led the Tigers boys track team by winning the 100-meter dash, the 200 and the 400. He posted a time of 10.77 seconds in the 100, 22.21 seconds in the 200 and 48.26 in the 400.

The 4x100 relay team placed second with a time of 43.12 seconds, and the 4x200 relay team was third at 1:27.64.

Jabarri Neal was fourth in the long jump at 20 feet, 11.5 inches, and Martavius Phillips was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles at 41.52 seconds.

The girls track team racked up four firstplace finishes. Senior Ty’Tyana Anderson won the 200 with a time of 25.33 seconds, Taneiha Bowman took the triple jump with a best of 36 feet, 3 inches, Jordyn Rogers won the shot put at 37-10.5 and the 4x100 meter relay team hit the stripe first at 48.45 seconds.

Bowman took second in the long jump at 17-6.5 and the 4x200 relay team was second at 1:44.50. Vicky Foday-Kapka was second in the 300 hurdles at 46.34 seconds and placed third in the 100 hurdles at 15.69 seconds.

Anderson added a third-place finish in the high jump at 5-2.

Lakeside-Evans won the girls region title, and Bradwell placed fourth. Brunswick captured the boys region track title, with the Tigers taking fifth place overall.

The Class AAAAA state sectionals will be held Saturday at Greenbrier High School.
