After dropping two of their first four games, the Long County Lady Blue Tide softball team is rolling. They played Liberty County for their first region game of the season on Tuesday, August 19 and rolled the Panthers 16-0 in three innings.

The first nine batters got on base for the Lady Tide, with Brewster bringing home the first run on a single after a double by fellow freshman Mackenzie Crews.
Lana Lewis singled to score another run before two more singles scored a third run and loaded the bases with no outs.
Two runs were walked in and Maddi Brannen singled, making the score 6-0 as the Tide brought their leadoff batter back up to the plate and the Panthers made a change in the circle.
A hit batter, a sacrifice RBI by Brewster and another single brought home three more runs for the Lady Tide to make the score 9-0 with two outs and two on.
Junior Jersi Lester took the plate and blasted a three-run home run over the centerfield wall. This was her first career home run as the Tide took a 12-0 lead into the second inning.
Brewster continued her impressive day as she struck out three straight batters in the second inning to preserve the Tide’s 12-0 lead.
Miley Maulden belted a two-run triple to make the score 14-0. Crews doubled again to score Maulden before Brewster brought her home on another sacrifice RBI. The Tide led 16-0 going into the third inning, meaning they only needed three outs and to allow no more than three runs to end the game.
They did not allow any as Brewster walked one, but struck out two to end the game. With the win, the Tide move to 6-2, their fourth straight win, and 1-0 in Region 3-AAA play.
They will have their biggest test of the season as they take on top 10 Southeast Bulloch on Thursday, August 21 in another big region game in Brooklet.
