On Thursday, March 19, the Long County Blue Tide golf team traveled to Savannah to take on Islands and Savannah Arts Academy at Bacon Park Golf Course. The teams came away with wins, but it was an even bigger day for one Lady Tide golfer.

Tide senior Brianna Copes has been a consistent piece for the Lady Tide golf team over the last four years. In Thursday’s match, she set the girls team record by shooting a career low 43 in the match.

She is the first Lady Tide golfer to ever break 45 and was just 6-over par for the nine-hole match.

This is not the first time Copes has made history for the Lady Tide. In 2025, she became the first Lady Tide golfer to qualify for the state tournament, where she finished in the top 15.
