The First Preparatory Christian Academy Highlanders are on a five-game winning streak after their rout of Memorial Day in Savannah.
The Highlanders, 12-3 on the season and 3-0 in GIAA Region 6A, trounced the Matadors 79-53 Saturday. FPCA outscored MDS 35-13 in the third quarter alone.
Robert McCloud led the way with 28 points, while DeVeon Clark added 18 and Malachi Furlow and Brandon Betton had 12 points each. Clark also had 10 rebounds for a double-double and Betton handed out six assists.
Kaleb Griffin, Jobari Sellers and Taurion Holloway had 13 points each for the Matadors.
That win came on the heels of a 62-59 win over Citizens Christian Academy in Douglas. McCloud had 24 points and Furlow chipped in 21. Clark scored eight.
Gray McLean led CCA with 17 points and Thomas Gentry scored 15.
FPCA’s homestand continues Friday against CCA and February 3 against Memorial Day School before the Highlanders end the season with back-to-back road games February 5-6 at Bethesda and Robert Toombs Christian Academy.
