The Liberty County Recreation Department is proud to announce that several of its athletes have qualified to compete in the 2025 Junior Olympics, which will be held this summer at Savannah State University. This prestigious national event brings together the top youth athletes from across the country to showcase their talents.

Local qualifiers include Destini Wells (100m dash); Naomi Bryant (100m, 200m, and 400m dash); Marquis Peguese Jr. (Long Jump); and the 4x100m relay team composed of Destini Wells, Janelle Perry, Avery Williams, Gabrielle Hilton, Georgia McGruder, and Xael Robinson.

“The kids have been working hard this summer and should be proud of themselves for what they’ve accomplished,” said representatives from the Recreation Department. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to compete at a national event, especially with it being held so close to home.”
