Liberty County's Brown named region's top offensive player

Liberty County senior running back Elijah Brown (1) was named the top offensive player in Region 3-AAA for 2025.

Liberty County’s Elijah Brown was named the Region 3-AAA offensive player of the year in voting by region coaches.

Brown ran for 1,257 yards, averaging 7 yards per carry, and scored 18 rushing touchdowns.

The Panthers placed six players on the all-region first team, and the Long County Blue Tide had four players earn first-team honors.

Junior wide receiver Aaron Brown and junior offensive lineman Carson Carter earned first-team offense honors for the Panthers, while senior defensive lineman Christian Hines, senior linebacker Tyrese Alexis, senior defensive back Rashaud Woods and senior punter Antonio Garlin were placed on the all-region first team.

The Blue Tide’s first-team selections were senior offensive lineman Tusiofo Tiapula, junior defensive lineman Isaiah Miller, senior defensive back Wesley Williams and senior athlete Dylan Tyler.

Long County had four players on the all-region second team: sophomore running back Tyrell Grayson, senior athlete Cortney Charles, senior defensive lineman Tyler Gamble and freshman linebacker Markyl Allen.

Liberty County’s honorable mentions were: junior wide receiver Kalale Green, senior tight end Montavius Johnson, junior offensive lineman Charlie Roberson, sophomore offensive lineman Michael Colmenares, junior defensive lineman Zorrion Green, senior defensive back Raymond Woods and junior defensive back Nykeim Ezell.

Long County’s honorable mentions were: senior running back Jeh’Miel Pettis, senior tight end Ethan Miller, senior offensive lineman Isaiah Lopez, senior offensive lineman Brady King, senior offensive lineman Jeremy Rollins, senior kicker Nick Contreras, sophomore defensive lineman Manuel Peralta, and sophomore linebacker Troy Gerber.

Calvary Day junior quarterback James Mobley was region player of the year, and Jenkins senior linebacker Aujshawn Izzard was named region defensive player of the year.

Jenkins senior Domonique Johnson was named athlete of the year, and Jenkins’ Tony Welch was named region coach of the year.
