Kayleigh Barnard struck out five and allowed just two hits as the Liberty County Lady Panthers claimed a 12-2 win over crosstown rival Bradwell Institute in a nonregion softball game Monday.
Barnard also walked just one, and Liberty batters drew seven walks. Barnard also went 2-for-2 at the plate with a double and one RBI. Adalyn Norton drove in three runs, and Liberty got RBIs from Ariela Jamison, Brighton Harpe and Layla Santiago.
Liberty County, 6-3, hosts Jenkins today and Bryan County on Tuesday. Bradwell, 0-7, hosts FPCA today at 4:30 p.m. and then begins a three-game set with South Effingham.
