The Liberty County Panthers picked up their first region win of the year with a combined no-hitter, holding for a 4-3 win over Islands.
The Sharks took two of three in the Region 3-AAA series, winning the opener 20-8 and the finale 4-3.
Glemon English, Hunter Lites, Jahair Rodriguez and Shedrick Pass tossed a combined seven no-hit frames, with Pass throwing the final four innings. Panthers pitchers walked six batters and the Panthers committed three errors. Panthers pitchers also threw two wild pitches and hit four batters.
At the plate, English was 4-for-9 with two doubles, Bryce Coley went 6-for-11 and Rodriguez was 3-for-10 with five RBIs in the series.
Liberty hosts Bradwell Institute tonight at 6 p.m. and begins a three-game series with Southeast Bulloch on April 8. The Panthers host SEB on April 10.
