Marcus Scott, a Liberty County native, has completed a historic professional basketball season overseas in Thailand.
Scott recently earned Thailand Elite Basketball Association (TEBA) regular season MVP, led his team to a conference championship, and finished the season as championship runner-up, marking one of the most impressive international seasons by a local athlete in recent years.
When Scott arrived in Thailand, there were no guarantees. He entered the season without a contract, without a promised role, and without certainty he would even see the court. What followed was a breakout year defined by resilience, preparation, and elite performance.
Scott averaged 27.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game, led the league in efficiency, and guided his team to a first-place regular season finish. His impact extended beyond statistics, as he consistently elevated teammates and delivered under pressure throughout the postseason.
“I just needed a chance,” Scott said. “Everything else took care of itself.”
