The Bradwell Institute Tigers held the rival Liberty County Panthers without a field goal through the first quarter and coasted to an 67-28 win Saturday night.
The Tigers built a 20-1 lead at the end of the first quarter and carried a commanding 35-9 lead into halftime.
Zi’on Thomas led the way with 20 points, while Chris Perry added 15 and Eli Hale scored 13. Perry also pulled down eight rebounds and Hale had seven boards to go with four assists.
Keon Grant registered five points, Jordan Gregg scored four, Ashton Arnold and Jah’barri Felix had three points each and Fortune Hicks and Antonio Haynes had two points each.
The Tigers were a blistering 22 of 41 from the field.
The Lady Tigers also rolled to a big win over their in-county rivals, topping the Lady Panthers 54-28.
Janiyah Blevins poured in 16 points to lead the Lady Tigers, while Jamia Ousley and Mikayla Oliveira had 11 points each. Ja’Nya Bush and Destini McLemore had seven points each for Bradwell, and Saniya Garner had two points.
Oliveira collected six rebounds and McLemore recorded five rebounds and six assists. Blevins came up with five steals.
Thomas was named the Davion Mitchell boys player of the game and Blevins was named the Delisha Milton-Jones girls player of the game.
The Liberty boys and girls faced Woodville-Tompkins on Tuesday and will host Bryan County in their home opener December 6.
