A new experience – and landscape – await Emree Mattingly.
The Faith Baptist Christian Academy senior signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Toccoa Falls College, in northeast Georgia near the South Carolina border.
“It’s really special to sign to play at the next level,” Mattingly, who has been playing volleyball since fourth grade, said. “It’s really special to have everybody here who has been a part of my journey since elementary and middle school.”
During her career at Faith Christian, Mattingly amassed 327 aces, 270 kills, 221 digs and 45 blocks. Her Crusaders team has won three region championships from 2023-25 and has played for the state championship four straight years, winning the state title in 2023 in the Georgia Christian Athletic Association.
Mattingly was named all-Southeastern Christian Conference, which encompasses south Georgia and north Florida, in 2023, 24 and 25.
“She has been a vital piece in re-establishing a dominant volleyball program here at FBCA,” said Faith Baptist Christian Pastor and FBCA administrator Dr. Terry Sellars.
Mattingly has visited the Toccoa Falls campus six times.
“It is so different,” she said, “but it is beautiful.”
Mattingly said she hasn’t determined her course of study at Toccoa Falls, but she is leaning toward social media management or sports management.
