Hinesville police are investigating what led to a man being shot and wounded Friday night.
According to Hinesville Police Department Assistant Chief Terranova Smith, the Hinesville police department is continuing to investigate an aggravated assault involving a shooting that occurred at the Wawa convenience store located on the 700 block of Veterans Parkway.
Smith said Corey Whitlock, 21. of Hinesville was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of marijuana. Whitlock is being held at the Liberty County Jail after his bond request was denied during his first appearance hearing Saturday morning.
Andrew Monsegue, of Hinesville, was shot in the neck, upper left chest and leg. He was flown to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah for treatment and remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit.
What led to the shooting is under investigation.
