Cameron Riles’ wager on Liberty County Final Jeopardy! was prudent enough to give him the win.

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce helped celebrate the county’s upcoming 250th birthday with two rounds of Jeopardy! for Riles, Liberty County Chief Magistrate Judge Michael McGirt and Assistant County Administrator Lameisha Hunter.

Categories included answers on people, places and events from Liberty County’s history. A stumper was “A former resident of St. Catherine’s Island was the owner of this famous ring-shaped candy brand.”

The candy in question is Life Saver.

Categories covered “Liberty County History,” “Liberty County Small Businesses,” “Explore Liberty,” “Liberty Fun Facts,” and “Liberty County Makers and Services.”

The Final Jeopardy! asked the contestants to give the date of Liberty County’s creation. While none supplied the right question — what is February 5, 1777? — Riles risked less of his accumulated money and came out on top.
