Bradwell senior quarterback Jah'barri Felix, with Tigers head coach John Adams, was named the AJC Varsity state player of the week.

AJC Varsity awarded Bradwell Institute quarterback Jah’barri Felix with its state player of the week award Wednesday morning at the BI gym.

Felix, a senior, accounted for seven touchdowns and nearly 500 yards of total offense in the Tigers’ 57-49 overtime win over Brunswick.

“He spreads the ball around really well,” Tigers coach John Adams said. “He’s a selfless player and all those guys are selfless players.”

Felix set the Bradwell record for passing yards in a game and threw for four touchdowns and ran for three others.

“Jah’barri had a huge game last week,” said Ted Langford of the Georgia High School Football Daily. “But no one player can do it alone. It takes a team.”

Felix also has a 4.0 grade point average.

“I want to thank God and thank my parents for telling me to strive for greatness,” Felix said.

The Tigers are 4-2 and beat Brunswick for the first time in eight years, after trailing by 14 points twice in the game.

“We knew we could pick it up. We went in at halftime and knew we had to keep locking in and keep trusting our coaches,” Felix said.
