Eleven Lady Tide flag football players were named to the all-Division 3 Area 2 teams, and one player took home one of the top honors.

Senior Ta’maira Mallard was named Area Defensive Player of the Year after a fantastic season.  Mallard led the area in quarterback flag pulls with 26 and was also in on 58 flag pulls of other players. She also caused five interceptions on deflections.

Making the all-area first team were twin sisters Mallory and Alyssa Skipper, senior Macey Higgason and freshman AnnLee Wells.

Mallory Skipper was the Tide’s signal caller in 2025 and was one of the top passers in the state. Twin sister Alyssa, who caught 17 touchdowns and accounted for over 1,000 of Mallory’s 3,200 passing yards, was her top target.

Higgason was a two-way player for the Tide as she was the number two receiver for Skipper and also played a big role in the secondary, catching eight interceptions.

Wells came on to the scene early for the Tide, making it known that she will be a force to be reckoned with for the Tide. She led with 74 flag pulls and also had six interceptions.

Elizabeth Smiley, Catherine Sikes, Hollie Filkins and Jersi Lester all made the second team wile Miley Maulden and Rilyn Williams were given honorable mention.

Nine of the 11 Lady Tide all-area players are expected to return for the 2026 season, which already promises to be a great one for the Lady Tide, after reaching the state quarterfinals again in 2025.
