Early voting is off to a strong start at the Liberty County Elections and Registration Office.
Officials reported 1,212 people took advantage of the first day of early voting Tuesday, with another 68 using the mail-in or voting drop box. By contrast, in the first two days of early voting for the May general primaries, there were 652 ballots cast. There were more than 8,300 early votes through the first week and a half of early voting in the November 2024 election.
Early voting will be held at the elections and registration office at 100 Main Street, Suite 1600, in the Historic Liberty County Courthouse and at the Liberty County East End Community Complex in Midway each weekday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
There also will be two Saturdays when early voting can take place — this Saturday and October 24 from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. at both the elections main office and the east end complex.
Early voting will conclude October 30 and polls and the precincts will be open November 3 from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. on election day.
